WILKESBORO BAPTIST TEAM TO HAITI

Ten of our members will be on mission to Haiti assisting with the reconstruction efforts and providing medical care in November. The team asks that you continue praying for the nation of Haiti and for them as they prepare for the trip. Baptist Men of NC is requesting that medical supplies be brought with the team, if possible. Wilkes Family Pharmacy will match dollar for dollar contributions made towards the purchase of the supplies. You may partner with this effort by making checks out to Wilkes Family Pharmacy (note:WBC Haiti Missions) and turning the check into the office, no later than Friday, October 8. For more information contact team member Ila Baugham.

THANK YOU NOTES

My family and I appreciate your thoughts of sympathy at the death of my father. I also thank you for your many kindnesses and good wishes as I deal with health issues. I am especially grateful for the prayer grams. It is so good to be a part of a caring church.—Virginia Reynolds

Thank you for the awesome opportunity and experience you have given me this summer. I am very grateful for the warm welcome and the way that you  have embraced me this summer as one of your own. Thank you for the ESV Study Bible that you presented me with on my last Sunday as the Intern. I am excited to dig in even more deep into scripture with the study Bible. As I have told many people in the internship program, you have been a great “fit” and I don’t think I could have found a better one to serve in this summer. Thanks for everything you have given me this summer.—Johnson Ramsaur

I would like to thank Ray Eller, Pete Lovette, Joel Dimmette, Terry Carroll, Alan Whittington and Carlos Pardue for taking Saturday morning to build a ramp for a lady in great need of a way to get out of her house. I would also like to thank Johnny Sturgill and Dennis Sawyers for taking their Saturday morning to spread mulch on the playground.—Dale Waddell

FAMILY MATTERS

Wednesdays, Sept. 8 & 15

6:00—6:40 p.m.    Room 114

Join us for two consecutive Wednesday evenings as we explore “What Does Matter to a Family?” Our time together will be facilitated by Tammie Brettschneider, Licensed Professional Counselor and Interim Director of CareNet Counseling of Wilkes, Inc. (formerly Pastoral Care and Counseling of Wilkes, Inc.) Tammie will lead us on an exploration of God’s original design for the family and look into the heart of the issues in today’s culture that push and pull us away from that design. These are informal sessions designed to give you hope, encouragement and tools to bring your family back to what matters most.

WEEKDAY PRESCHOOL OPENINGS

We have openings in our 2’s, 3’s, and Pre-K classes. A completed registration form and a $60.00 non-refundable registration/supply fee are necessary to insure a place for your child. Please contact the church office for more information.
