SUNDAY’S SERMON

“A NEW LEASE ON LIFE

2 Corinthians 5:16-21

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THE RESURRECTION MAKE?

As I reflect on the difference the resurrection makes; I think of God’s awesome love for me. He sent his only son Jesus, to live on earth, to die and to rise again for me. I accept him as my Lord and Savior and live my life for Him.  Especially through the past year, as throughout my life, this relationship with Jesus – his love and care- have helped me through a tough time. This life experience makes the resurrection even more meaningful in my life.

Over the next several weeks during Children’s Time the children will be given a Jesus’ Victory Block Set that will focus on Jesus’ Life – A Blessing for Me, My Life – A Blessing for Others, Jesus’ Death on Calvary – His Love for Me and Celebrating Jesus’ Victory.  We will understand how Jesus is our best friend and how we need to share and show his love and care with others as we live our lives for Him.  I encourage you to use these block sets as a discussion tool with your children to help them continue to understand why the resurrection is so important in our lives. In John 15:13-14 Jesus says, “Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for his friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.”  Jesus is our best friend and loves us very much. This makes the resurrection so important in our lives.  Patricia Turner
