What Difference Does The Resurrection Make?

(A worship series to prepare for Easter)

The resurrection tells us we are somebody.  I am not just speaking of the neighbor down the street or the girl three classes down the hall. We are all somebody.

“He is not here; for he has risen” (Matt 28:6).  Those eight simple words announced how the history of the universe would be rewritten because of Jesus.

The tomb is empty and sin has been replaced with forgiveness.  Darkness and despair has died.  Hope and opportunity can be born in the hearts of all men, women, girls, and boys.

We cannot leave Jesus on the cross or in the tomb this Easter.  He will not let us.  He is alive and he leads us.  We are all somebody and the resurrection proves it.

Let us once again show the world that our Savior is somebody to us.  Let’s come together for worship and Sunday school to prepare for Easter 2010.  It is time to journey as a congregation to the cross and to an empty tomb.

It is also time to be on a personal journey to the cross and to the tomb.  Consider carrying something in your pocket or place something on the dash of your car to remind you of what Jesus has done for you.  Give up something that you love to experience on a daily basis.  It could be a favorite web site, cup of coffee, or favorite show.  You choose.  Just choose something that will help you on your journey.         You are somebody,

                                                     Byron
